Greyhound, bronze sculpture by Georges Lavroff
Georges Lavroff (1895-1991) was a sculptor who excelled in animal art. He lived in France between 1927 and 1935 and was actively involved in the vibrant Parisian art scene. He exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne. His gaze captured the soul of the animal, often geometrizing it and bringing out its essence, as in this greyhound that we present here. He was fully in tune with the Art Deco period and was one of the sculptors who best expressed this aesthetic language.
