Offered by Étienne de Roissart
Amphora made in Rome around 1600. Carved from a warm-toned and veined fluorite, it is distinguished by its baluster-shaped silhouette resting on a curved base. Two high-relief protomes adorn the body of the amphora. They represent bearded faces inspired by mythological figures such as satyrs or rustic deities. The removable lid is topped with a sculpted ovoid knob, framed by stylized leaves.
