Napoléon III period bookcase in ivory and ebony marquetry

An important two-part bookcase with the top as a display case and the bottom as a sideboard opening with six doors on both levels and three drawers in the waist. Richly inlaid ivory work decorated with Berain motifs representing garlands, masks, snakes, vases etc. on a background of ebony and blackened pearwood. Very fine Napoleon III period. Lock with original key. Several shelves inlaid with ivory fillet are adjustable at the top and bottom. Very good condition.
