Serge Belloni (1925-2005) - The Poet's Garden in Venice

Serge Belloni (1925-2005) - The Poet's Garden in Venice oil on panel circa 1970

Serge Belloni, nicknamed "The Painter of Paris," dedicated his artistic life to capturing the timeless essence of Paris and Venice. Every day, in all weather, he immortalized the changing faces of the City of Light and the City of Doges.

This charming painting transports us to Venice, with a delightful view of a small canal with its bridges and suspended Poet's Garden in hidden Venice. Belloni loved spending autumn and early winter in Paris, where the bare trees revealed the architecture and authentic soul of the city. And the rest of the year in Venice to capture its unique light; the color palette of this beautiful painting is soothing and invites us to follow him on his journey and reverie.
