Hunt & Roskell were Victorian England's most prestigious silversmiths, descendants of Paul Storr, England's most famous silversmith. They were Her Majesty Queen Victoria's goldsmiths and jewelers, and exhibited extensively at the Great Exhibition of 1851. By 1865, they were considered the largest holders of precious stones in Europe (John Culme, Directory of Gold & Silversmiths, p. 245).
