Louis XV style flat desk circa 1870 called "du Dauphin" in amaranth veneer and gilded bronze.
Dark moving top of a burgundy leather embossed with gold, opening with three drawers including a central drawer in its belt,
the lock of this one is signed: Paul Sormani 10 rue Charlot Paris
They rest on four curved legs. Very beautiful ornamentation on all sides of gilded and chiseled bronzes such as ingot mold, offcuts and sabots, clasps and medallions in frames on the belt.
The desk was originally created by Bernard II van Riesenbergh in 1745 for the Dauphin. It is exhibited in the grand cabinet of the Dauphin at the Château de Versailles.
