Pierre-Nicolas EULER (Lyon, 1846 - id., 1913) - Flower bouquet
From 1860 to 1865, Pierre-Nicolas Euler was a student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon, in Jean-Marie Reignier's floral painting class. He opened a drawing studio in Paris around 1876. From 1875, he exhibited at the Salon de Lyon, winning a first-class medal in 1895. The same year, he began exhibiting at the Paris Salon, where he won a medal in 1904.
He painted canvases (and drew a few enhanced charcoals) of flowers and fruit. At first, his paintings were considered "theatrical" and his lighting effects "flashy". Later, critics were more favorable, praising his originality, mastery of light and integration of color.
