Sacred Art, objects and decorations of religious life, devotional object
In the center, surrounded by four Ionic columns and two niches was the door of the tabernacle, surmounted by a Latin expression which attests to it “EGO SUM PA (missing text) – NIS VIVUS QUI DE COELO DESCENDIT” We find this expression in the Gospel of Saint John: “I am the living bread who came down from heaven; If anyone eats this bread, he will live forever, and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.”
The gold decorations on a black background in the spandrels allow this religious facade to be attributed to the Renaissance.
Restored piece in good condition despite some gaps, including the tabernacle door.
Dimensions of 98 cm by 80 and 25 cm deep.
