Portrait of the Grand Dauphin in armor, Paris around 1700

Beautiful portrait representing Louis de France (1661-1711) known as the “Grand Dauphin”.
The son of the Sun King is represented in a three-quarter bust with a very large curly wig which falls over his steel armor.
The latter is crossed by the blue cord of the order of the Holy Spirit and by a very pretty lace frill.

Oil on canvas, good state of conservation.

Very beautiful oval wooden frame finely carved with a Bérain style foliage decoration.
