A Roman red leather chalice box

A rare red leather chalice box with the arms of Pope Benedict XIV Lambertini ( Pope from 1740 to 1758 ) , with fine gilt tool ornements, opening with two metal hooks , the inside in red velvet.

A Roman work circa 1750.

Similar examples are in the collections of the Vatican and of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.
