French Empire Mantel Clock, 'la laitiere', Ca. 1820

Famous and beautiful Empire clock in gilded and patinated bronze, a young milkmaid on her horse. The dial is signed by Etienne Tavernier. Etienne Tavernier (1756-1839) was a Parisian watchmaker who worked closely with Abraham-Louis Breguet. The clock is in good working order, recently serviced. There has also been a restoration on the dial around a keyhole.
