Pair of Sconces with an "Antique Brasero", France 1880

Chased and gilt bronze sconces, each comprising a central shaft surmounted by an « antique brasero ». Issuing three up-turned grooved candle branches joined by a foliate garland and terminating in candle rings decorated with acanthus leaves

These sconcescan be compare to a gilded bronze wall light designed around 1775 by Jean-Charles Delafosse (1734-1789).
