A gold ring set with a matched pair of Ancient heliotrope allegorical intaglios.
The intaglios are Roman, 1st - 2nd century AD, the high carat gold ring is modern.

Each intaglio measures 1.1 x 0.8 / 0.9cm.
The intaglios are decorated with images of clasped hands, parrots, thistles and other unidentified objects.
It is so rare to find a two ancient intaglios with such similar imagery, size and material. One intaglio has a historical chip and a fracture.
