A silver mounted tortoiseshell Memento Mori snuff box.
English, early 18th century.
Measures 8.5 x 6.6 x 1.6cm.
The tortoiseshell lid is set with a silver plaque engraved with a monogram above an engraved skull.
The base appears to be faintly engraved with the name and date ‘Hannah Chaplain 1704’.
