A double sided copper gilt devotional reliquary pendant.

German, 15th century.

Measures 5.8 x 4.7 x 1.2cm.

One side of the pendant depicts Christ between two angels holding a shroud and to the other is the seated Madonna and Christ child.

The pendant has a strong dark patina, the images on both sides with considerable wear from years of devotion and much of the original gilding highlights the remains of its decoration.
