Sapho at the column 1848 - James Pradier (1790-1852)

James Pradier, pseudonym of Jean-Jacques Pradier, born in Geneva on May 23, 1790 and died in Bougival on June 4, 1852, is a Franco-Swiss sculptor and painter. Appreciated during his lifetime, he was considered one of the greatest sculptors of his time, until his death during the Second Empire.
Gilded bronze in two tones, signed and dated 1848.
