A sardonyx cameo with a profile of Hercules

The cameo carved with the head of Hercules, the bearded warrior and hero in profile, facing dexter. He wears the skin of the Nemean lion over his head with its paws tied under his chin. The beard and lion skin are cut in the darker upper layer and the profile in the lighter layer of the stone.

Italian, late 18th century, mounted in a ring crafted in high carat gold
