Hanakago, flower Basket – signed Okazaki Chikuhosai II

A Japanese bamboo basket, hanakago, for flower arangment. The top and bottom of the basket are constructed from a tight horizontal weave with open work on the top and the main body in a matte plaiting. The basket has tree arch shape feet.
Red color and dark patina applied to the basket.

The basket comes complete with its bamboo water pot, paulownia wood tomobako (original storage box) and cloth to wrap the basket.
