Furniture and Works of Art from the 17th, 18th and early 19th century
Pair of sconces with three branches, the fluted central barrel ending in a flame on which lean three eagle heads from which branches in arabesques emerge from large acanthus leaves. The lower part of the barrel ends with a bouquet of flowers and fruits. This pair of sconces is inspired by the sconces made by Feuchère, indeed the arabesque arms are typical of his work. We find them on sconces such as the arms with lovebirds made for Marie-Antoinette or the arabesque arms with three branches executed for the Queen at Saint-Cloud.
