Pair of patinated and gilded bronze candlesticks, Louis XVIII period c.1820

Beautiful pair of chiseled bronze candlesticks, patinated and ormolu gilded, circa 1820.

The ribbed baluster was supported by three winding feet on a triangular base with rounded corners and slight projections.

The decoration presents a rich and original iconographic repertoire of volutes, capitals, acanthus, water leaves, pearls... This is a very high quality model all in chiseled bronze with a magnificent patina and very beautiful gilding. with mercury presenting the famous matte and shiny parts, polished with agate.
They each consist of 10 independent parts assembled around a threaded rod, to which is added the bobèche (which makes 22 parts in total for the pair).

This pair of torches is characterized by its very good quality of execution and the originality of its model, which places it in the category of very high quality productions of the period, and whose expertise can only give it to the one of the best workshops in the capital.
