Alexis Mérodack-Jeaneau (1873-1919)
An outstanding early 20th century pastel by Mérodack-Jeaneau, a personality central to the evolution of art in the early 20th century, not only as a painter but as a critic, revue director and exhibitor. His reputation today is unfortunately restricted to a small number of arch-amateurs, rendering him surprisingly affordable.
