Pair of covered vases, signed Samson

A very elegant pair of baluster lidded jars, the body with revolving ribs in the style of the Compagnie des Indes (famille rose) with polychrome decoration of flowers au naturel
Lids with pearled decoration and seed for the gripping.

Signed with the square red stamp under the cover and under the base, this mark is typical of the productions of Samson for the Compagnie des Indes.
Note the restoration of a foot and a lid (edge).

The Samson factory prospered over four generations during the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Their production testifies to their interest in ancient ceramics and Chinese porcelain.
The factory had a great success during the World Fairs of 1867 and 1889
