This rare fan is made up of 21 lacquered bamboo blades. The thick gold decoration on a black background shows different flowers on the top; the main blades are decorated with baskets, flowers and birds. On each side, a reserve on a silver background, occupying 17 strands, shows on one side flowers and birds and on the other a scene composed of figures in the garden of a palace as indicated by the door and the pagoda represented in the distance, on the other side of the lake.
