The visite - Sébastien Dulac (1802-1851)

This delightful oil on canvas, presents a picturesque and funny scene,
like a vaudeville.
In the center a young embarrassed woman, at her side her husband surely, arguing with her, indeed in the background a man jumps out of the window, her lover perhaps.

Sebastien Dulac (1802-1851)
is a French painter, specialized in the scenes of kinds and the portraits.

He appeared in the Paris Salon from 1824 to 1851.
"His small genre paintings often show popular Italian scenes are very picturesque and colorful."

He has a real sense of detail and theatrical staging.
Some of his scenes remind us of Dutch painting.
