Group "Tobias and the Archangel Raphael, late 17th century

Statuary group carved in the round representing Raphael holding Tobias by the hand.
The Archangel wears "antique" sandals and a loose golden dress. He holds Tobias wrist in his right hand as if to place it under his protection.
It has two wings widely spread in the back.
Beside him, Tobias is represented as a child, with juvenile features and bare feet.
Archangel Raphael is the patron of travelers, healers and healing. His name means "God heals".

Original polychrome and gilding
Period late 17th century
