Exceptional ceramic slip of high dimensions, of a heron getting ready to eat a frog. Modeled in the manner of naturalists, the heron is perched on a rock in the middle of a pond, covered with water lily leaves, a flower girl made of rushes at the back. This very important composition rests on its openwork triangular plinth with scrollwork and interlacing patterns. The whole is marked with an “A-B” coat of arms and a sign evoking a double ax. Very strong evocation of Mintons England or P. Comolera.
