French Table clock signed B.G Martinot, Louis XIV, 17th century

Pendulum called "Religious", in tortoiseshell tinted red and gilded bronzes. The facade is decorated with two detached columns surmounted by a Corinthian capital.
A bronze apron in the form of an openwork drapery completes this prestigious decor characteristic of the Louis XIV style.
We find similar models of pendulum in the book of Daniel Marot "New Book of boxes of pendulums, cocks and cases of watches and others necessary for the orlogeurs"

The movement is original, complete with its wheel escapement and wire suspension.
The enamelled dial with cartridges and the movement bear the signature “B.G Martinot Paris”.
