The son of a master carpenter, Jean Baptiste Fromageau, born about 1725, set up his studio on rue Traversiére before settling in rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine. The Dauphin almanac mentions his house as one of the most important in Paris. Its abundant production is very diverse. He specializes in both luxury cabinetry and carpentry.
