A Japanese lacquer katana stand for seven swords, late Edo period, nineteenth century. Worked in roironuri lacquer decorated in hiramakie with inlays of mother of pearl and soapstone, depicting a mountain landscape with a river and buildings set among trees, surrounded by floral scrolling foliage. The reverse, with some minor losses, is decorated with Buddhist symbols and cloud patterns.
