The painting shown in this photograph is titled “Circus” by the renowned Hungarian-American artist Pál Fried.
This dynamic genre scene depicts a circus performance in which a white horse rears up in the arena. Executed in Fried’s characteristic Impressionist style, the composition emphasizes movement, atmosphere, and spontaneity. The artist’s original signature is located in the lower right corner.
Pál Fried’s work is closely associated with the traditions of French Impressionism. He studied at the academy of Lucien Simon and under Claude Monet.
In 1947, he moved to New York, where he taught at an art academy. During the 1950s and 1960s, he worked in Hollywood.
Many well-known personalities, including Marilyn Monroe, posed for him.
The painting is in excellent condition.
