Offered by Emmanuel Redon Silver Fine Art
Silverware and Silversmith of the 19th and 20th centuries
An elegant polygonal sauce boat resting on a matching integral stand; the piece features applied stylized motifs—spearheads and fleurs-de-lis—characteristic of the Neo-Gothic and historicist styles popular in the late 19th century. The chamfered contours, accented by flat bands, lend the composition a refined geometric quality and a sense of decorative restraint.
The quality of craftsmanship, the precision of the applied elements, and the flawless polish attest to the expertise of the House of Cardeilhac, one of the most prestigious Parisian silversmithing firms of the second half of the 19th century.
