Giovanni Crivelli, known as Il Crivellino, was one of the most talented animalier painters of his time. Son of Angelo Maria Crivelli, he combined family heritage with Flemish influences, creating lively and expressive scenes. Active in Parma for the Farnese court and Lombard aristocracy, his works—sought after for their narrative power—continue to appeal to collectors of animalier art and 18th-century Italian paintings.
