Rare desk in solid walnut and rosewood veneer, molded, carved, and inlaid. It stands on a slanted base sculpted with twisted motifs and joined by a stretcher shelf. The top, with rounded cut-outs, features its original leather decorated with stamped patterns. It is surmounted by two curved drawers and a niche fitted with letter holders, enhanced by a shelf inlaid with wisteria on a Japanese ash background. It opens with a convex frieze drawer, with original gilt bronze handles and keys, and bears a hot-stamped mark on the top. Superb waxed finish.
