Marriage barometer in carved and gilded wood, Louis XVI (1774-1793) period, 18th century.
The center of the barometer used to indicate variations by the needles stands out against a white background that declines against a blue background. Adorned with a medallion-shaped gilded wooden frame, the barometer is decorated at its amortization with two doves resting on a quiver and a torch, symbol of love, surrounded by a wreath of leaves and flowers.
After Torricelli (1608 - 1647).
Original gilding. The mechanism has been revised.
