A seventeenth-century majolica pharmacy jar from Pesaro

A beautiful majolica pharmacy jar and lid from Pesaro (or Castel-Durante, formerly attributed) decorated in polychrome with a coat of arms surmounted by a knight's helmet between the initials PG on the flat handle. Below, a scrolled inscription reads "SY.D.SCORDO" against a background of trofei decoration.
Dated 1638 within a cartouche.
Height: 22 cm - 26.5 cm with the lid.
A rare known example of an Italian majolica chevrette (small, round jar) with a lid.
Restorations : chips to the foot and the end of the spout; cracked lid (see photos).
