On the front, the two drawers, which open without crossbars, are decorated with a scene of pagodas in a lakeside landscape, framed by a frieze of foliage; The sides open with two central doors, decorated with a scene of figures strolling on a bridge in a Chinese garden, framed by a frieze of foliage identical to that on the front. The case, whose front uprights are decorated with flat gilded bronze drops, is supported by four ring-shaped feet with sabots. The front drawers open with four mascarons and reveal two gilded bronze keyholes, identical to those on the doors. The piece is topped with a large cavetto marble slab known as “Gris St Anne.” Parisian work from the Louis XVI period, circa 1780, stamped F.RUBESTUCK (1722/1785), who became a master craftsman in 1766.
