Good state of peservation
This beautiful set of four chairs and two armchairs forms a large ensemble in excellent condition.
Elegant and with great simplicity, each seat is representative of the Henri II period, featuring vertical architecture, straight lines, and a wide seat.
The warm color of the walnut and the elegance of the petit point tapestry covering the seat, as well as the upper supports and backrest, highlight the refined structure of the chairs and armchairs.
The Armchairs feature a base composed of four Doric columns with smooth shafts, banded and reinforced by a circular stretcher. The finely molded armrest and its support form a series of curves that soften the rigidity of the straight elements.
The Chairs harmonize perfectly with the armchairs. The base, with two elegant Doric columns at the front and two straight supports at the back, is reinforced by four square frame stretchers. The front stretcher, called the "stirrup," is molded.
These seats, with their great simplicity, inspire a sense of ceremonial seating through the quality of their proportions. Pure Henri II period walnut seats, they reflect the taste of an era where grace and balance combine with majesty.
