A bronze okimono with a dark brown patina, depicting a seated puppy biting a straw hat (kasa) held between its paws. The composition combines dense, naturalistic modeling with a delicately narrative scene, typical of Japanese decorative bronzes from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The contrast between the smooth volumes of the animal and the woven texture of the hat, rendered through precise chasing, enhances the textural effect. The deep, nuanced patina displays natural highlights in the relief.
