A Louis XVI period commode with a slight central projection, inlaid with rosewood, amaranth, light wood stringing, and stained woods, decorated with geometric friezes and simulated fluting. It opens with five drawers in three rows, topped with a molded gray Sainte Anne marble. Gilt bronze mounts. (Very good condition, marble restored) Condition report and technical photographs available upon request. Stamped JA LECLERC. Height 83 x 131 x 45 cm. Jacques-Antoine Leclerc (1744 - January 30, 1792), cabinetmaker. Paris. Master on September 29, 1779. He worked on rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine, then rue des Barres, and finally in the courtyard of the Jewish Quarter. This cabinetmaker produced well-made Louis XV and Louis XVI furniture.
