Rare pastoral scene in tondo form. A typical subject, very fashionable in 18th-century French art, inspired by Huet, Boucher, Fragonard, and Watteau. This small oil painting depicts a pensive young shepherd seated at the foot of a tree with his dog against a landscape background. The pictorial style, very close to the works of Jean-Baptiste Huet, allows us to attribute this small tondo to a work from his workshop. Oil on canvas, circa 1760.
