An exceptional pair of large Baroque mirrors with giltwood pediments. Made of solid wood, polychrome, with faux marble decoration. They come from a chapel near Lugano, in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. They would beautifully adorn the entrance of a restaurant, hotel, or shop, or serve as a striking decorative piece in a home. One of the two large mirrors features giltwood and painted grapes and vine tendrils. A shell and acanthus leaves decorate the upper part. Napoleon III period. Height with pediment: 275 cm, Height without pediment: 227 cm, Length: 154 cm, Depth: 26 cm. The two mirrors are slightly different, with one being more ornate than the other.
