19th century and Art Nouveau furniture and objets d'art
Rare flared vase in enameled glass finished with a multi-lobed neck. This vase is slightly twisted with hot glass stretching, giving a slight wave effect in relief. Rich enamel decoration, acid-etched and gilded with daisies, chrysanthemums, and spider webs. Signed “Gallé” with a plant-inspired font in the lower part on a web background. In perfect condition for an Art Nouveau piece.
A rare vase that can be dated to around 1895, the period known as “Cristallerie” during which Emile Gallé developed models of different shapes in enameled glass. In the Art Nouveau rooms of the Petit Palais, we find a model entitled “chrysanthemum flowers,” dated 1895, whose gold and acid-etched decoration is similar to that of our vase (inventory number: OGAL596).
