Pair of Restoration period appliques in the form of a console with three bras de lumière, in very finely burnished, matte-finished, and chased bronze, alternating high-quality gilding and a dark brown, almost black patina, typical of the Restoration period. Each applique is richly decorated, such that the ornamental repertoire seems to respond to some kind of horror vacui : plumes of acanthus leaves, pulvinus, volutes, rosettes, palmettes, leaf-and-dart, water leaves, Greek scrolls and anthemia, such as those found in the late works of Thomire.
