Exceptional large goblet on a broad foot, engraved with the Arms and portrait of Charles of Bavaria (1697–1745), who reigned as Charles VII, King of Bohemia in 1741 and in 1742 Holy Roman Emperor.
First half of the 18th century, circa 1742.
One side shows him in profile bust wearing a cuirass, inscribed CAROLUS VII within an oval medallion framed by an ovolo frieze; the reverse bears his coat of arms over a double-headed eagle clutching a sword and sceptre, surmounted by a royal crown.
Fully faceted stem.
