Rare Pair of wine Bottle Coolers, Decorated in Famille Rose Enamels with the Arms of Georges René Binet de Boisgiroult de Sainte Preuve et de Marchais (1688–1761)
He served as a Musketeer of the King in 1704, Comptroller General of the Dauphine in 1751, and later as Governor of the Aviary at the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
He is said to have introduced the future Madame de Pompadour at Versailles in order to draw the King's attention to her.
He owned several hôtels particuliers in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, including the Hôtels de Soubise, de Conti, de Mademoiselle, de Lauzin, and de Melleroy.
