Pair of solid cast iron pedestals designed to hold Medici vases or garden statues. The four sides are richly decorated with acanthus leaves, animal heads, cornucopias, and floral motifs. They can be placed in picturesque entrances, tree-lined avenues, courtyards, or panoramic terraces. Their imposing proportions and generous weight lend them a commanding presence. This finely crafted statue comes from the Maupassant Park in the Bois de Savary at Allonnes in Maine-et-Loire, an area once home to many art foundries. Dimensions: Height: 87 cm; Base: 60 cm x 64 cm
