Boin Taburet - Napoleon III Silver-plated bronze centerpiece,

A sumptuous piece of goldsmithing, this centerpiece depicts two idealized young women, half-draped, supporting a large shell-shaped basin at arm's length. Their slender bodies intertwine in a spiraling movement, while the fluid interplay of draperies and vegetal scrolls blossoms at the base into a rocaille-like flourish.
The finely chiseled and silver-plated bronze surface captures the light with a liquid brilliance that enhances the sculpted flesh and the virtuosity of the casting.
This refined masterpiece bears witness to the historicist taste of the late 19th century, when Parisian goldsmiths, under the influence of prestigious houses such as Boin-Taburet, brilliantly renewed 18th-century forms.

Founded in Paris around 1875 by Georges Boin and Émile Taburet, the Maison Boin-Taburet quickly established itself as one of the most refined silversmiths in the capital. Specializing in the reinterpretation of 18th-century styles—particularly Louis XV and Louis XVI—it distinguished itself through the exceptional quality of its chiseling and the elegance of its compositions.
Present at the Paris World's Fairs (1889, 1900), Boin-Taburet won several awards that recognized its expertise.
Attached is a photo of this centerpiece from the book listing BOIN TABURET pieces.
