19th century and Art Nouveau furniture and objets d'art
Rare shell-shaped vase by Emile Gallé with a hot-drawn neck decorated with tulips. Gallé's artistic glassware uses a variety of glass techniques. This piece is acid-etched glass that has been reworked on a wheel to accentuate the details of the flowers, with colored inclusions in the decoration. We find purple in the flowers and milky white lines at the top of the vase, as well as a powdery green trail at the base. Richly engraved decoration on several layers with a fire-polished finish on the surface. Naturalistic “Gallé” signature in relief. This is a signature that Gallé affixed to his rarest models. Art Nouveau work from around 1900 in perfect condition.
