Magnificent gilt bronze fireplace front, decorated with a central heart-shaped motif.
French work from the 19th century.
Circa 1870
Sumptuous gilt bronze fireplace front, a masterpiece of 19th century ornamental decoration. Entirely chased and finely gilded with fine gold, it brilliantly illustrates the taste of the period for technical virtuosity and decorative richness.
Our entirely bronze fireplace screen makes it very rare on the market.
Its structure, with a symmetrical and balanced composition, presents an architectural frame with clean lines, enhanced with ribbon friezes and delicately openwork arabesques. In the center, a large heart-shaped panel, trimmed with green velvet, brings a touch of softness and romanticism to the whole.
The upper part is adorned with an urn motif flanked by foliage scrolls, a symbol of elegance and classicism, while the curved and finely molded feet ensure perfect stability while emphasizing the visual lightness of the piece.
This fireplace front, both decorative and rare, testifies to the exceptional know-how of Parisian bronziers of the second half of the 19th century.
It will bring a note of splendor and distinction to any interior.
