Sculpture, paintings and art objects of the 18TH and 19th centuries
A very fine Empire chandelier with nine lights.
The candle arms, in patinated bronze, are extended by bearded male heads serving as bearers of light.
The underside of the chandelier is decorated with gilt bronze leaves converging towards a pinecone, also in gilt bronze.
At the center rises a gilt bronze flame, set upon a small cassolete.
The chains, made of gilt rings shaped like knotted ropes, are held by panther heads gripping the links in their jaws.
The casting and chiseling of the bronze display an exceptional craftsmanship, characteristic of the work of artisans prior to the French Revolution, in the early 19th century.
Professionally restored, in accordance with the rules of the art.
